Application

The summer program is intended for mature and motivated gifted students who are interested in an opportunity to enhance their academic skills. The application for the 2009 Barrett Summer Scholars program is available at the link below and is electronically fillable. Only complete application packets will be considered and include:

• Program Application Form
• Course Selection Form
• Scholarship Application Form
• Application Certification Form
• Teacher Recommendation Form
• Copy of unofficial school transcript or report card
• A Personal Statement that answers one of the questions provided

Applications must be postmarked by Monday, March 2, 2009. Applications will be evaluated based on academic record, teacher recommendation, and personal statement.

For Arizona Schools
The BSS program is currently working with many Arizona schools and districts to help identify high achieving students. If your school did not receive a copy of the application packet, please contact us so that we may send your school a hard copy of the application packet and supplemental material.

Acceptance and Notification
Barrett Summer Scholars will mail a post-card indicating that an application was received. We are unable to accept telephone calls regarding the status of applications while they are being processed. A letter will be mailed regarding acceptance into the program by mid-April.
